About the App

Blood Pressure Diary is a free Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to help individuals monitor and understand their blood pressure over time. Whether you have been diagnosed with hypertension, are at risk of high blood pressure, or simply want to stay informed about your cardiovascular health, this app gives you a clear, visual, and private way to keep track of your readings.

The app works entirely offline — your data never leaves your device. There is no account to create, no cloud sync, and no subscription fee. Your health information belongs to you and only you.

Blood Pressure Diary is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that can be installed directly from your browser on Android and iOS, and is also published on the Google Play Store.

Why Monitor Blood Pressure at Home?

High blood pressure (hypertension) affects approximately 1.28 billion adults worldwide and is a leading risk factor for heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. The World Health Organization estimates that only about 42% of adults with hypertension are diagnosed and treated.

Regular home monitoring is one of the most effective ways to detect hypertension early, track the effectiveness of medication, and share accurate data with your healthcare provider. Studies show that patients who monitor their blood pressure at home achieve better control of their condition compared to those who rely solely on occasional clinical measurements.

Blood pressure naturally varies throughout the day, influenced by activity, stress, meals, sleep, and medication timing. Keeping a diary of readings taken at consistent times — ideally morning and evening — provides a much more accurate picture than a single reading at a doctor's office.

How to Use Blood Pressure Diary

Step 1 — Record a reading: On the Dashboard, use the circular sliders or type in your systolic blood pressure (top number), diastolic blood pressure (bottom number), and pulse rate. The date and time are set automatically.

Step 2 — See your category: After saving, the app instantly shows your WHO blood pressure category with a color indicator — green for Normal, yellow for Elevated, red shades for High and Crisis levels.

Step 3 — Review your history: Open the History tab to browse past readings, edit or delete entries, and export a PDF report organized by date.

Step 4 — Analyse trends: The Statistics tab shows averages over 7 and 30 days, a category distribution chart, and your overall reading count.

Step 5 — Share with your doctor: Use the PDF export to produce a printed or digital report that your healthcare provider can review at your next appointment.

About the Developer

Blood Pressure Diary was created by Boštjan Žagar, an independent software developer from Slovenia. The app was built with a focus on simplicity, privacy, and genuine usefulness — qualities that are often missing from health apps that require accounts, subscriptions, or cloud access.

The goal was to create a tool that anyone can use to manage their blood pressure monitoring without technical skills or concerns about where their sensitive health data is going. Everything stays on your device.
